Attitude is Everything is dedicated to improving Deaf and disabled people's access to live music. We achieve this through our volunteer, training and advocacy programmes as well as benefiting the many thousands of Deaf and disabled people enabled to attend live music events because of our influence. The only UK organisation working with the live music industry to comprehensively increase access, in 2020 we celebrate our 20th anniversary!My role works across trusts, challenge events and individual giving. Achievements include co-writing our successful funding bid for just under half a million to the National Lottery Community Fund, implimenting new challenge and individual giving activity and supporting one of our patrons to organise and complete a team Coast to Coast bike ride (Whitehaven to Tynemouth).

Kentish Town And Stratford

Shape is an arts charity working to improve access to the arts for disabled people. My role included challenge fundraising and engaging with individuals and organisations to fundraise on their behalf.I also managed Shape's social media channels, ensuring both their fundraising messages and wider work were presented in an engaging and empowering way.Projects included: London to Brighton bike ride, West End theatre collections, a BBC Radio 4 appeal and managing relationships with key supporters such as Union Chapel and Ravensbourne College.

Kentish Town, London

Shape runs a year round programme of exhibitions and related events, showcasing work produced by disabled artists. Projects I've promoted include: Uninterpreted - exhibition of work created by artists with learning disabilities; Adam Reynolds Memorial Bursary with the Baltic Centre Gateshead and Camden Arts Centre; Specimins to Superhumans - Hunterian Museum and Times Cheltenham Science Festival with Arts Catalyst; Shape Open at Portobello Gallery - disabled and non disabled artists respond to the word 'disability'; and in 2013 Shape's pop up gallery on Gracechurch Street in the City of London.

Recruited to develop public awareness of Escape Artists’ mental health work with The Syd Barrett Fund, my role developed to include all of the charities publicity and fundraising event organisation, with duties including:• Building and maintaining ongoing relationships with mainstream and specialist media, including Mojo Magazine (circulation 98,000) where I arranged coverage of Fund activities in three consecutive issues;• Creation of media contact database and managing journalist requests for images and interviews, with local, national, and international press, including Uncut, Planet Rock, Art and Music (in-house magazine at the Saatchi Gallery), BBC Radio, The Press Association, The Prison Education Trust;• Writing articles to promote the charity for publications in the UK, Italy and the USA;Developing reach into the Syd Barrett fan-community, networking with fan forums and developing the Charity’s social networking presence;• Creating national publicity campaigns for 2 x Charity Auctions: eBay-based sale of Fart Enjoy, a collection of Syd Barrett’s drawings raising £12,600, and the sale of 3 Mick Rock photographs at international auction house Phillips de Pury, liaising with the Phillips press department;• Project managing a walk from London to Cambridge (Easter 2010), skydive challenge and live music events at London venue 93 Feet East and the Tunbridge Wells Forum, assisting with interruptive theatre day in Spitalfield Market;• Spearheading the Charity’s Big Give publicity drive, raising £7,500 in one week; • Total generated from all activities is approximately £24,000.

Marketing and outreach for festival of new writing (2009) and the Finborough’s 30th Anniversary Festival (2010). This included generating media coverage (BBC London, Time Out, Whatsonstage.co.uk) and targeted marketing campaigns to key audience groups, local residents, under 30s and ethnic minorities.

Online music magazine providing news and reviews on the festival circuit and proactively seeking out new and alternative bands. I managed a team of writers, overseeing the creation of content ideas. In addition I worked to write news, features and reviews to tight deadlines, and liaised with record and PR companies.

This role was alongside the Independent Theatre Council's Fast Track Training Programme.Duties included co-ordinating guest lists for Quicksilver's summer tour, sending mail-outs and producing marketing material for both print and online. Liaising with external organisations and providing general administrative support for the marketing team.

Susy Radio is a community radio station based in Redhill, Surrey. The sation ran a number of one month (Restricted Service License) broadcasts between 1996 and 2008. This led to the station being awarded a full time licence and it can now be heard both on FM and online.
