Independent Aviation Consultant - Offering Technical Sales Support, Business Development & Project Management Support.

This role was created to improve sales, develop new business, foster relationships with OEM partners and regulators. The role has a direct report to the General Manager and when necessary other members of the Senior Leadership Team. I regularly travelled and represented the company at national and international trade shows.Key Accountabilities:Responsible for managing relationships with customers, OEMs and regulators.Responsible for technical sales support for all areas of the business.Providing written, pricing and technical content to the sales and commercial teams for responses to bids and proposals.Responsible for developing and promoting Airwork’s relationship with the New Zealand Defence Force. Responsible for developing and controlling all new projects within the helicopter engineering business.Responsible for growing the business in regards to new technology and evolving markets.Accomplishments:Successfully developed relationships between Airwork and Honeywell Defence and Space through regular engagement and in joint sales efforts at International Trade Showsand local demonstrations.This has led to direct and indirect sales opportunities. Key in the development of the Airwork BK-117 Glass Cockpit. This solution has allowed the sale of the BK-117 into markets it would have previously been excluded from.Key in developing the Evolution brand for the BK-117 helicopter that has allowed the company to market and sell upgraded BK-117 helicopters in very challenging market conditions.Developed a bid template which is now used as a standard for all of our commercial bids. Relationship with the RNZAF has increased salesrevenue in the avionics, electrical and hoist shops.Developed a New Project Due Diligence process that controls and tracks new projects from concept through to initial sales.

Airwork (NZ) operates New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority (NZ CAA) Part 146 Design, Part 148 Manufacturing and Part 145 Maintenance Organisations. The Design and Manufacturing Department has a staff of thirty personnel across two sites (Mangere and Ardmore). It is comprised of a design office at Mangere and Ardmore, a manufacturing department at Ardmore and a number of ancillary work-shops (avionics, electrical, Instrument and hoists). The department carries out aircraft design projects, component maintenance, overhaul and manufacture.

40 Squadron operates and maintains the Royal New Zealand Air Force’s fleets of two Boeing 757 and five C-130 Hercules aircraft. The Squadron, based at Whenuapai in Auckland, is run by the Commanding Officer. He delegates all maintenance activities to the Maintenance Flight Commander (Operational Maintenance Manager).

The Royal New Zealand Air Force’s fleet of five C-130 Hercules underwent a significant upgrade to enable them to continue to operate out to a planned withdrawal date of 2017. In order to reach this point a significant upgrade of the aircraft’s structure, mechanical systems wiring, electrical system and avionics was required.Involved and responsible for the initial technical requirements drafting, tender evaluation, best and final offer and contract negotiations stages in New Zealand. Transferred to the Contractor’s facility in Edmonton Canada for the design, installation, ground and flight testing phases of the project.
