I have worked in the AEC industry for over 20 years gaining experience across multiple construction sectors. During my career I have always tried, wherever I am, to align and develop technology with realism and pragmatism coupled hopefully with personable nature and an open and flexible approach.Working for over a decade at Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners (formerly Richard Rogers Partnership), I led the design and information management support team as an associate. There I gained valuable insight on winning, designing and managing major architectural projects such as Heathrow Terminal 5, NAT Barajas (Terminal 4 Madrid) and Leadenhall St..This led to positions in digital systems and information management at CH2mHill. There I deployed onto London 2012 (Building) and Tideway (Civil), later leaving to provide the same services for HS2 (Rail). For each I implemented client-side design and management tools, developed works information, standards and data requirements for their supply chains, while managing the data deliveries and quality assurance.During this more recent experience I broadened my knowledge with a postgraduate diploma from Salford University in GIS Technology. The decision to develop my knowledge in GIS grew originally from the collaboration with the various major project teams, but it also became clear the convergence of these technologies with emerging BIM tools and methodologies would be instrumental in the future.Key achievements include:• Design and deployment of four Bentley ProjectWise BS1192 / ISO 19650 CDEs and their associated design tools and integrations. Typically, this included onward system ownership, and the related content or data management• Assisting each to meet major milestones, such as the Development Consent Order and Hybrid Bill awards for Tideway and HS2 respectively, while supporting and working closely with each technical, discipline and /or production team.• Collaboration with software vendors, such as Bentley Systems, to develop custom data management tools for design, coordination and asset management, some of which later became commercial products.• Working closely with other related technical teams, such as GIS and Asset management, to develop and achieve integrated organisational and project data objectives and requirements.• Representing each organisation in their participation with, and development of, national and international standards, methods and tools including AEC UK, BS1192 and BuildingSMART
