Projects varied from technical upgrades to Sybase 16 to a statistical analysis of the quality of our issuer credit curves based on factors such as continuity, liquidity of bonds and quote depth of credit default swaps. My last project was to help evaluate a suitable ETL (Extraction, Transform and Load) tool for rapid data feed development, initially security static, rates, derivative confirms and client multi-asset portfolios. We chose the young but rapidly evolving MarkIt CADIS EDM (Enterprise Data Management) tool. From December 2015, I built feeds and user interfaces in the EDM toolkit supported by MarkIt consultants. We went live in under 6 months with three feeds, comprising UBS trading data, Bloomberg index data and Reuters ABS (Asset Backed Securities) pricing data. Before EDM, I addressed a large number of Sybase database performance and tuning issues and supported a reference and market data batch written in PERL and SQL.In 2014 I took responsibility for moving a Thomson Reuters Quantative Analytics database from Oracle to Sybase working with the vendor to adapt their SQL Server client to work with Sybase. I have gained experience of continuous integration using TeamCity and enjoyed moving the build and deployment infrastructure to Nuget and Octopus. Show less -

The business expanded rapidly across many asset classes and we worked closely with quant developers to integrate pricing models for products such as weather derivatives and catastrophe bonds. Projects included a migration of the high frequency equity trading business from Murex to Calypso and an installation of Murex 3.1.During the credit crunch, I worked with Legal and Operations to build a liquidity risk reporting application and various ad-hoc reports as several of our counterparties collapsed. I attended the FSA's transaction reporting forum and built a feed collating trades from Murex 2.9, Murex 3.1 and Blackrock Aladdin to the FSA's Transaction Reporting System. The team also supported the Operations department who used Smartstream products for bank and general ledger reconciliations. I was the technical lead on the TLM Recs Premium project, responsible for the successful conversion from Smartstream SSR on Sybase to TLM Recs Premium 2.1 on Oracle. I built the interfaces, including SWIFT, the batch (using an in-house PERL scheduler) and monitoring and reporting utilities. Show less -
