Nature of Job: Was responsible for the security and safety aspects of Al Marjan Island along with additional responsibilities pertaining to the security aspects of various other projects consisting of the Bab Al Bahr, Al Dana Island, Solar Power project, Al Hamra Power Plant, Al Ghail Power Plant and RAKIA Business Centre. The major role was Safety Officer and Security –in-Charge of Al Marjan Island.Conducting risk assessments.Motivate / educate construction employees on the use of PPE (personal protective equipment) while on duty.Monitoring the access at the projects and educating the visitors/ suppliers as well as the work force, about the importance and implementation of safety measures within the project. Investigating/ reporting accidents / incidents / injuries.Ensuring permission is taken for hot works and adherence of safety aspects.Inspection and maintenance of all firefighting equipment such as fire hydrants, fire alarm panels, detectors, sprinkler systems and extinguishers.Conducting fire mock drill for project employees.Submitting reports to the management for any untoward activity.Conducting training and refresher courses for employees and supervisors in safety, security, fire fighting and first aid.Conducting exercises for the employees to keep the system alive.Monitoring of housekeeping activities inside the construction sites.Ensuring the environmental conditions is hygienic to the employees.Maintaining of records, registers and files.Inspection of all machineries, heavy vehicles and equipment used in the site.Arranging third party inspections.Inspection of scaffolding for its safety aspects.Ensuring the welfare facilities is available for employees at site.Monitoring all the scrap deals taking place in the Island to avoid any malpractices. Liaisoning with other law enforcing agencies viz., Police, Civil Defense etc.Monitoring and controlling the movement of sewage water within the projects
