At the Prolingua Language School, after several hours of training with a tutor, my task is to prepare didactic contents for the teaching of Italian to tailor-made groups of students. Lessons are structured for students of different ages and the subject matter varies from general to business language. The aim of the lessons is to provide appropriate language in different contexts of use, according to the needs of the students, but above all the teaching is aimed at interaction.

During the 180 hours of my internship at the university's language centre, I was in charge of assisting native Italian-speaking lecturers in lessons for foreign students. In addition to observing the didactic method put into practice by the teacher, I periodically exposed the class to didactic multimedia content that I had prepared and held 50-minute lessons. Outside of class hours, in collaboration with a colleague, we offered tutoring hours to deepen the topics exposed in class, presenting new teaching ideas in order to provide new or already studied didactic content, based on a practical, creative and interactive approach. Together we have achieved excellent results, confirmed by the positive performance of each student tutored.

The lexicographic training took place at the Italian etymological lexicon workshop at the University of Saarland. The main objective was to acquire a sound knowledge of Italian dictionaries, both printed and online. The most significant part of the internship concerned historical-ethimological research of deonomastic words. Subsequently, the lexicographic work was put into practice through the filing, lemmatisation and editing of dictionary entries. This research and editing work was carried out in collaboration with a colleague. Our teamwork provided the lemmatisation of three entries in the etymological dictionary. The whole experience contributed a great deal in the development of critical reasoning and in recognising problems and conveying solutions on the linguistic data of Italian.
