I am very grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the incredibly talented and passionate team at Growing Country. My position as science communicator has given me the opportunity to creatively reach an online audience eager to learn more about best-practice agriculture.

Key activities completed:- Developed a self-directed Literature Review outline to improve project understanding and research skills- Assisted project team with sampling field trips including data collection and equipment maintenance- Learned how to use and assist with water quality sampling equipment including autosampler, PASS, RSS,field camera, Hobo water level logger, Telemetry water level logger, and Hobo rain gauge- Developed project communication content in line with organization brandI assisted with and learned about the project ‘Understanding Bioavailable Nutrients (BAN) in gully remediation’. The project used innovative approaches to evaluate nutrients and sediment parameters in different gully remediation treatments to improve water quality on the Great Barrier Reef. This project will improve knowledge around the most effective approaches for remediation treatment options that reduce pollution. The intern worked with the project manager assisting in field work, data collection, data management and developing communications content.
