I'm a CIPD qualified professional with over 25 years senior management experience in both private and public sectors. I currently run a consultancy business, primarily working with SMEs in a variety of industries, and the voluntary sector, in a wide range of people management projects. I'm also a sessional lecturer at Wrexham University, for its MBA and MSc programmes I've been described as the Director or Head of HR for over 30 companies and work with senior management teams in a variety of sectors. I'm always interesting in discussing opportunities on a long or short term basis with organisations of any size.My current business focus is to help organisations and their managers to develop their skills in managing people, to create business success and growth. But I'm also keen to destroy the "myths" that employment issues are difficult, hamper businesses and create a legal bureaucracy. Whether it's managing complex TUPE situations, providing advice to Managing Directors or Chief Executives, or ensuring that recruitment is done in a professional, cost-effective and candidate focused manner, I aim to be a trusted adviser to all the companies I work with. My background in unionised environments means that I'm often asked to advise on employee relations issues, and I also represent clients with Employment Tribunal issuesI'm the author of "Happy Working Relationships" - the small business guide to Employment Law and Managing People, which was shortlisted for the CMI Management Book of the Year 2018. I've worked as a CIPD Tutor, on the Level 7 Advanced Diploma, for one of the UK's leading providers.
