Adriseismic - New Approaches For Seismic Improvement And Renovation Of Adriatic And Ionian Historic Feb 2020 - Present
The Adriatic-Ionian area is heavily undermined by earthquakes. Each country has developed laws and norms, methods, techniques and expertise for tackling earthquake risks and for reducing seismic vulnerability of the built environment. Nevertheless, in urban areas and particularly in historical centers they remain high.ADRISEISMIC overall objective is to exchange and systematize knowledge and practices in tackling the reduction of the seismic vulnerability of the built environment in Project Partner countries (Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Albania, Greece), to harmonize planning and management of emergencies after seismic events and the post-earthquake phase, in order to drastically improve the approaches for dealing with and to secure the reduction of seismic vulnerability among ADRION regions. The main focus areas are the historical urban centers and historical squares and their surrounding buildings, conceived as symbol of local identity and socio-economic cores for the ADRION settlements.By building upon the available knowledge and thanks to territorial cooperation, ADRISEISMIC will develop new integrated approaches to innovate and harmonize the normative, technical and training frameworks in the ADRION area, providing ready-to-use methods, tools and procedures that will be integrated into the existing policies and practices, thus strengthening local responses and reducing vulnerability to natural hazards.

Ruritage – Rural Regeneration Through Systemic Heritage-Led Strategies 2018 - Present
RURITAGE establishes a new heritage-led rural regeneration paradigm able to transform rural areas in sustainable development demonstration ‘laboratories’, through the enhancement of their unique Cultural and Natural Heritage potential. Based on past research and experiences, RURITAGE identifies 6 Systemic Innovation Areas (SIAs) (Pilgrimage, Sustainable Local Food Production, Migration, Art and festivals, Resilience, Integrated Landscape management) and 11 Cross-cutting Themes transversal to every SIA (Business models and investment strategies, Governance and regulatory framework, Legal aspects and land tenure, Technological innovation, Social innovation, Environment and climate change, Cultural Ecosystem Services, Mental wellbeing, Tourism and Marketing strategies, Cultural and natural heritage safeguarding, appreciation and interpretation, Mobility and accessibility of the areas) which represent the ways in which cultural heritage acts as driver for regeneration of a rural area and its economic, social and environmental development. Through the analysis of 13 selected Role Models in Europe and beyond, and of how SIAs and cross-cutting themes successfully interacted in the Role Models, RURITAGE will support the co-creation and implementation of heritage-led regeneration strategies in 6 Replicators, involving local stakeholders in the formulation of the strategies, ensuring a collective approach in the management, responsibility and ownership of Cultural and Natural Heritage. RURITAGE project starts on June 1st and will last 4 years, involving 39 partners coming from 19 countries (Italy, Spain, Austria, UK, Ireland, Austria, Germany, France, Finland, Poland, the Netherlands, Hungary, Slovenia, Greece, Iceland, Norway, Turkey, Colombia, Chile).

Match-Up The Role Of Modal Interchange To Foster A Low-Carbon Urban Mobility 2018 - Present
EU regions are experiencing growing levels of air pollution, CO2 emissions, traffic congestion. In a situation of general lack of financial resources for big infrastructural investments, the development of sustainable multimodal mobility becomes one of the key challenges for EU. To be more efficient, urban mobility systems require a greater integration at urban level. Therefore, to overcome the current barriers, EU regions need an integrated set of policies and strategies enhancing an effective modal interchange and a higher integration between landuse and transport planning processes.MATCHUP project focuses on the optimization of the places where people change between transport modes. By considering 4 main types of lowcarbon means of transport (Walking/cycling; Rail transport; Urban public transport; Green vehicles), MATCHUP aims at achieving significant improvements of modal interchange within the 7involved countries (IT,PT,IE,CZ,RO,GR,SE)The overall objective is to contribute to the enhancing of sustainable mobility and reduction of transport CO2 emissions by improving the Public Administration expertise on multimodal urban mobility planning and design. The interregional and multilevel exchange of experience process, involving relevant stakeholders (e.g. politicians, technicians, practitioners) and endusers will improve skills, behaviours and will raise awareness on lowcarbon urban mobility.MATCHUP project will deliver the following main outputs:- a set of practical Guidelines providing indications for interchange nodes planning and design- 7Action Plans, implementing Guidelines, aiming at overcoming the main physical, technical and social barriers to multimodality in the involved countries through the planning and design of multimodal transport nodes. MATCHUP outputs and results will improve 5 OPs funded by Structural Funds and 2 local policies addressed by the project, thus influencing new initiatives for the promotion of sustainable mobility.

Icaro – Innovative Qualification For Technological And Organizational Innovation In Building Sector Jan 2019 - Present
The technological and organisational innovation and the new normative framework in the construction industry imposes the redefinition of the profiles and the training of the construction site technicians, integrating and in some cases replacing the existing knowledge, skills and capabilities. A better understanding of the current needs from an industrial point of view, of the current normative framework and of the existing vocational training and qualification offered is therefore needed. ICARO will bridge the gap among the construction sector needs and the training offered, proposing integration and in some cases a completely new definition of the construction site technician curricula.

SeeRRI establishes a foundation for building self-sustaining R&I ecosystems in Europe by developing a framework for integrating RRI approach into regional development policies in 3 European territories: B30 Area (ES), Polymer and Mechatronic Cluster (AU), and Nordland Region (NO). By mapping the territorial R&I ecosystem, SeeRRI will understand the supporting conditions for R&I and identify the stakeholders that will be involved to formulate a variety of scenarios for building a self-sustaining ecosystem in their territories. The engaged stakeholders will gain awareness and insights while engaging in creative collaboration using workshops and open-labs, thus will function as multipliers and promote RRI principles in their territories and beyond. The input from stakeholders will contribute to defining and validating a framework for self-sustaining R&I ecosystems developed by the project team, which will generate concrete activities to be implemented.
  • Shelter - Sustainable Historic Henvironments Holistic Reconstraction Through Tecnological Enhancemen

Shelter - Sustainable Historic Henvironments Holistic Reconstraction Through Tecnological Enhancemen Jun 2019 - Present
Over the last decades, as a consequence of the effects of climate change, cultural heritage has been impacted by an increasing number of climate related hazards, posing new challenges to conservators and heritage managers. SHELTER aims at developing a data driven and community based knowledge framework that will bring together the scientific community and heritage managers with the objective of increasing resilience, reducing vulnerability and promoting better and safer reconstruction in historic areas. The first step to enhance resilience is associated to the improvement in understanding the direct and indirect impacts of climatic and environmental changes and natural hazards on historic sites and buildings, by linking concepts commonly used in disaster risk management and climate change adaptation with cultural heritage management, in order to provide inclusive and informed decision-making. Comprehensive disaster risk management plans need to be drawn up, based on the specific characteristics of cultural heritage and the nature of the hazards within a regional context, taking into account the diverse heritage typologies as well as the specific socioeconomic conditions, since this directly affect the vulnerability of such systems. By a deep understanding of the hazard, the exposure and the vulnerability of the historic area, the local dynamics and the provision of innovative governance and community based models, it is possible to provide useful methodologies, tools and strategies to enhance resilience and secure sustainable reconstruction.Due to the information complexity and the diverse data sources, SHELTER framework will be implemented in multiscale and multisource data driven platform, able to provide the necessary information for planning and adaptive governance. All the developments of the project will be validated in 5 open-labs, representative of main climatic and environmental challenges in Europe and different heritage’s typologies.
