CurrentI manage and carry out grant audits and expenditure verification assignments for Commission DGs (ECHO, INPA) and Agencies (EACEA, CINEA, HaDEA, EISMEA) and other international donors such as Sida (The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) and DFID (Department for International Development).My main responsibility is to obtain reasonable assurance as to whether the expenses claimed by the grant beneficiary were free of any material misstatement, whether caused by error or fraud, verify that claimed costs are incurred in line with the usual administrative and management practices of the Beneficiary; and assess whether these costs are evidently extravagant or unreasonable as defined within the grant agreement terms and conditions.I am responsible for all key phases of the audit process, from planning and risk assessment to conducting fieldwork, drafting the preliminary audit report and finalising the draft report. In addition, as a team member of the Audit Coordination Office (ACO) in Brussels, when I am not involved in fieldwork as lead auditor, I carry out technical and quality reviews of individual engagement reports prior to their submission to the Commission for consideration.
