Blue River already owned the scope, the asset was sitting dormant. Explored what was required to start using it, did the pilot work which proved the benefits of the scope, participated in the change management process including: generating training materials, training others, generating buy-in - and more. -Saved money and opportunity cost. Salvagable parts were being thrown away. Championed the process of taking broken equipment eg pneumatic pushers; and setting them aside for servicing with repair kits. Previous, the process was to discard such items and buy new ones - at a cost of approximately 20x that of a repair kits. - Known well among the operators and executive team for my proactivity.- Won the 'Employee of the Month' award during my first month.

The main benefit was that the customer now pays for almost all the admin associated with their job.- Used my initiative to increase our stock of good working loan units which allowed us to clear workshop space and increase our capacity for jobs

Computerising our records has meant: Better awareness of outstanding jobs, instant visibility of job history, more accurate job costs - in short massive increases to efficiency. Brokered a deal for a secure space in the city to store keys and cards for building access; created a system for providing keys and holding the borrowers accountable. Developed a roster for callouts and regular work which: increased coverage, gave staff more predictability over their time off, and helped customer service issue callouts more quickly. Saved our Director time by creating a system for regular maintenance jobs.

Notably, oftentimes I was working with rare scientific apparatus for which very little support was available. Part of my job was to understand the equipment well enough that I could teach its use to Academic staff so they could use it for their research. Also, I would need to prepare equipment and materials for students' lab classes, these materials would need to be prepared and tested such that I could be confident the students would be able to achieve normative results. Adhered to Health and Safety protocol to comply with Government Regulations for Health and Safety in laboratories. Enforced Health & Safety protocols, and encouraged students to look after the H&S of themselves and their peers. Key member of multiple research team responsible for collection and processing of biological specimens such as venous blood.

Identified the manufacturer's part code from the technicians diagnosis. Placed orders, kept the system up-to-date with lead times, and provided the parts across a multi-branch IT repair company. Trained new staff as they entered my department. Collaborated with various other departments in order to accomplish company-wide goals. Reworked our system for tracking fault parts in an effort to make stocktakes more accurate. Sought out suppliers for commonly used parts so that we would be buying earlier in the supply chain, and thus paying less.Initially full time, then dropped back to part time whilst studying, then resumed full time work again.
