New development as well as independent verification & validation of spacecraft flight software for major OEMs

Successful plugins led to growing demand by customers. Tasked to set up and lead plugin department.

Structural analysis plugins (C++) supplement the HyperSizer optimization process with classical aerospace analysis methods. Highly experienced in implementing methods from Bruhn, Niu, Roark, and NASA/NACA, as well as proprietary failure criteria.Developed bearing-bypass, grid stiffened structure, bolted joint (NASA-STD-5020), and other analyses. Used on production vehicles by large OEMs, reducing their analysis effort from months to hours.Comfortable interfacing with external stakeholders on a technical and business level. Daily work involved developing plugins for customers to match their existing method implementations (typically Excel, Python, or Fortran), as well as supporting them with their own plugin development.Co-architected and implemented future optimization code and plugin API (C#).Familiar with standard FEA tools. Plugin inputs are determined using Abaqus, Nastran, or Optistruct.Various initiatives for process improvements to support company growth: took ownership of all existing plugins, developing a standard architecture to streamline development, maintenance, and testing. Took co-ownership of plugin API. Set up infrastructure for automated analysis code testing. Helped establish Scrum process for entire development team.

Researched Onset Theory (Strain Invariant Failure Theory), a new physics-based composite failure criterion. Used extensive FEA simulations (Abaqus) in combination with custom software (Python).
