As the Head of Development at Bluegrass, I oversee diverse and geographically dispersed teams of in-house developers, contractors, and development houses. My primary focus is on continuous delivery and integration, automating development workflows, refining technology stacks, and exploring new technologies.Alongside these responsibilities, I manage and maintain most of our cloud infrastructure on Azure. In 2019, I led the migration of our apps (a mix of .Net and PHP) from traditional VMs in the private cloud to Azure app service, resulting in significant cost savings and increased deployment flexibility.I play a lead role in defining and architecting complex solutions for our clients, utilizing cloud-native technologies to deliver highly resilient and performant applications. While my expertise lies primarily in React and React Native development, my responsibilities extend far beyond those areas.

I'm responsible for leading the front-end team from a technology and process perspective. My role is to keep Bluegrass at the cutting edge of front-end technology and innovation and improve the speed and quality of all the work we deliver - while also taking the lead on our most complex front-end projects. Day to day I work on diverse projects from CMS templates to web apps to hybrid mobile apps.I also created and maintain all of our front-end open source projects (https://github.com/bluegrassdigital)

The majority of my work here has involved using HTML, CSS and jQuery to craft everything from standard websites to complex web apps. From templating all the way through to implementation. I am enjoying working with a diverse team of exceptionally talented people here at HW.Beyond the core tools of the trade, 'Responsive web design' and SASS are among my favourite areas right now.Lead a development team session on Responsive Web Design in March 2012.Have been front-end lead on a number of responsive projects, both large and small in the last year and a half.Was the front-end development lead on Nationwide UK's responsive redesign through most of 2013.

I've been dabbling in html coding for as long as I can remember, but it was only at the beginning of 2010 that my dabbling turned into developing websites for other people and organisations. I now can't get enough of it and am passionate about my web design work. I like clean, standards-compliant code. I develop custom themes for Wordpress as well as normal static pages depending on requirements...HTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash (a teeny-tiny bit on occasion), working knowledge of PHP (at least relating to Wordpress and its codex)
