The most senior executive in charge of the Labor Party in Western Australia.Key achievements: Change management• Rebranded the ALP (WA Branch) as WA Labor. Commissioned & analysed detailed research which made clear the old name was confusing and harming Labor’s electoral prospects. To ensure success thousands of stakeholders had to be persuaded on the need for change. After more than 100 years it was a large project which included all new logo designs, new messaging & a large increase in social media activity.• Modernised the membership experience. Analysed the problem then implemented a two year strategy which included changing Party rules and staff focusing on membership as a customer experience. Then built a new cloud based membership database, with monthly payment options, a first for Labor in Australia.• Increased legal compliance. Undertook a risk audit which identified a compliance deficit with taxation & electoral disclosure laws. This was due to the disparate nature of local branches run by volunteers. An elected senior executive position responsible for assisting in the administration of the organisation and the conduct of political campaigns.

Working directly to the Minister in her personal office and representing her in meetings with both internal and external stakeholders. Directly responsible for broad communication strategy, backbench and community liaison.

Helped establish a team dedicated to working with Members of Parliament. Personally provided media, communications and strategic advice. Later established, designed and wrote the Premier’s e-newsletter. It was the first of its kind in Australia and was distributed every week to an open subscriber list of thousands.

Spent 7 months working for the re-election of Jann McFarlane as the Member for Stirling at the 2004 Federal election. Responsible for all campaign planning, communications & logistics in this vital marginal seat.

Working with Marginal seats around Australia in the lead up to the 2001 election. Later with specific responsibility for the Western Australian targeted campaigns of Canning, Hasluck, Kalgoorlie, Stirling & Swan

Working with team of staff supporting the State Parliamentary Labor Party.

Responsible for the organisation of campaigns in the state seats of Bendigo East, Bendigo West, Ballarat East, Ballarat West, Ripon & Ballarat Province.

Duties included the establishment of an electorate office and office systems, constituent work, support of the member, organising community events and continuous campaigning. Bendigo West had the only Labor MP north of Melbourne at the time, so the workload was varied and extensive.
