Worked as a KTP Associate for the University of Strathclyde on a 'Knowledge Transfer Partnership' project with Alconbury Weston Ltd (AWL). The project involved the development and optimisation of a continuous filter dryer system used to deliver a transformational system for pharmaceutical product isolation. The objective of the project was to develop a protocol to support the rapid development of filtration, washing and drying processes for new drug candidates for AWL’s client base.

This project investigated the electrochemical removal of toxic metals from industrial waste water. The University of Strathclyde and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) were engaged in a project to develop an electrochemical process to eliminate the toxic metals. My contribution to the project was to develop a model using COMSOL Multiphysics for an electrochemical reactor which could be used to determine the performance under industrial operating conditions. Predictions from the model will allow the process to be designed for optimum efficiency, ensuring safe operating conditions, and will therefore contribute to the design of the pilot-scale unit to be built in Vietnam. Once validated, a reactor geometry will be developed for an industrial reactor (at partner URENCO), and optimised for industrial operation.
