Ingenious Infrastructure invests in renewables projects and energy transition businesses. I led a team of two investment analysts that had two objectives:1. Support the management in defining the future strategy for the group. We conducted research into worldwide power markets, business models, and a variety of renewable generation projects.2. Identify and execute investment opportunities in new markets. Notable projects include: - Merredin Solar Farm, a 130MW PV project in Western Australia, which we developed and sold as ready-to-build project. - Merredin battery storage. We reached the final panel for grant funding from ARENA for the installation of a 50MWh battery system in Western Australia. We proposed the operational strategy that would be needed to solve local grid congestion issues, and the revenue streams that would be needed to support the investment.

Lead investment associate for the Ingenious EIS funds in the energy technology space. My work primarily involved evaluating proposed energy generation projects across solar, wind, hydro and anaerobic digestion, and ensuring optimal performance of the projects once operational. Key responsibilities:- Appraisal of the entire business case for each project (technical requirements and risks, grid integration, energy policy environment, cash flow evaluation) • Communicating project details to the Investment Committee• Research into other cleantech and infrastructure investment opportunities (battery storage, broadband networks, CO2 capture)Key transactions:• Managed the sale of an 8MW rooftop solar PV portfolio (c. £25m) to a major UK infrastructure fund. The sale delivered the highest IRR achieved by an Ingenious Infrastructure investment.• Supported the refinance of two 20MW ground mounted solar portfolios. Built the financial model and conducted the sensitivity testing required by the investment bank to determine the debt size and repayment profile that could be supported.
