About Simon Costello Gaicd

I am a driven senior executive who is passionate about applying governance, strategic thinking, risk management, data and geospatial technology to solving the world's biggest challenges. Sustainable development and clean energy living is challenged by climate change and natural hazards, volatile geopolitical environments, and rising costs of living. Our global data infrastructures require creative governance and operating models to deliver the essential services for tomorrow. Knowing ‘what is happening where, and when’ is foundation to solving these challenges, and maps combined with good data and system governance are a unique key to unlock solutions.I marshal resources through my strong connections with data experts, scientists, finance and HR, strategic thinkers and policy makers, to come up with solutions that tackle these challenges one step at a time.I use my program management, strategy development and board experience, performance and risk monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and leadership of multi-disciplinary teams across multiple organisations, to achieve organisational goals. I am proud to conceptualise, design and build data and governance capabilities with some of the world's best data and policy professionals, and to sustain these capabilities with long-term revenue. I am prouder of the fact that I have put these tools into the hands of those who benefit most - policy experts, service delivery, small businesses, and the general public.
