I was engaged to set a strategy, transform the go-to-market team and execute the go-to-market plan for Capgemini’s largest global client, Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC). The mandate was to ensure that the business is and remains, fit for purpose, to compete for the let of HMRCs future IT contracts. Public records show that Capgemini has subsequently secured >£1bn of new contracts.I am proud to have completely re-built, re-energised and transformed the 50-strong business development team. The new, high-performance team comprises direct Sales, Bid and Proposal Management, Sales Operations, and newly established Marketing, Innovation and Service Portfolio Development capabilities. Underpinning this transformation, I have overseen:• The design and implementation of all new sales processes and related business controls.• The implementation of a new Salesforce based CRM system.Throughout the transformation, the team have consistently reported company leading employee Net Promoter Scores.We partner with HMRC to innovate in their business using technology. The contracts support the strategic business imperatives of HMRC, including fairly and accurately collecting tax revenues, reducing fraud, and enabling payments, for example, through the Government’s COVID Job Retention Scheme.
