Example programmes include:Online customer experience transformation programme – acting as technical delivery lead for a multi-phase transformed online customer experience including an innovative ecommerce and self-service/care capability for customers. Working alongside the Transformation Director at a major telecoms organisation on a post-merger integration programme, I ran the programme office for the IT transformation – overseeing budget, timelines, stakeholder management and governance across seven programmes of work.IT transformation programme focused on billing migration and systems integration. I was responsible for delivering a new provisioning solution and migrating over 5 million customers into the new IT estate. The programme allowed the client to achieve significant reductions in operating costs, create a better, streamlined customer experience and achieve speed to market improvements.

During this time, programmes of work included: • Working with a UK telecoms business to transform its IT organisation, defining the processes and organisational structure needed to deliver a more coherent and efficient set of IT services• Managing the requirements and scope for a new workplace desktop IT solution for a mobile telecoms organisation. • Acted as Project Services Lead, mobilising an outsourced IT operation and running the project services domain to achieve lower costs and higher quality delivery on time and on budget for a multinational defence technology organisation. This included establishing rigorous, secure processes, reporting and governance.

Worked with telecoms companies in the UK and Netherlands on the design, build and deployment of their digital television platform. It was the first cable company digital TV launch. I led the rollout of the platform to several regions and the design and build the national DTV monitoring centre.Other engagements included design and implementation of an operational reporting solution for a telecommunications provider and a value-based service improvement programme.

Banda Aceh Area, Aceh, Indonesia

I took 16 months off to travel and do volunteering work in Asia. Following the Asian tsunami in 2005 I had the opportunity to work with UNDP through Accenture Development Partnerships and took on the task of setting up a project management office in Indonesia. This involved putting into place tools, reporting, monitoring and governance processes so that $6 billion of donated funds were allocated appropriately for reconstruction in the Banda Aceh area. The people of Banda Aceh and Indonesia remain an inspiration to me for their resilience and courage following this devastating event.
