I oversee the accounting functions for multiple properties as a senior accountant for Marriott/Hilton franchisees. My responsibilities include preparing monthly financial statements, weekly cash forecasting, budget to variance analysis, monthly general ledger review, monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations, month end and year end closings, audit preparation and special reporting to owners, lenders, and investors. I spearheaded the annual budget process in the ‘cloud’ by researching and finding a cost effective site and training peers and manager on how to use this so all parties could input data in real time and reduce duplicates. In addition, I prepare journal entries for refinancing and monthly mortgage entries including request for escrow reimbursement and reconciliations. I also wrote cash flow reports in accounting software and trained peers and management to integrate excel worksheets with accounting software to reduce time and increase efficiency. I am the go to person when there are questions about the accounting software for both accounts payable and general ledger.I possess great communication skills and my experience shows that I am always looking for ways to be more efficient for myself and my peers.
