From a very young age, I have been interested in the way businesses are run:  how shops or offices are laid out, how they sell themselves to the customer, how they remain organized?  I often asked myself if the reception of a business can make a customer choose one service provider above another.  Having spent many years working in the personal care field, I have come to realise that my passion lies in helping people but the opportunities afforded to me in exploring the administrative side of business periodically, kept on intriguing me.  My enthusiasm for business and office management grew from a visit in my youth to my mother’s work. I was fascinated by the amount of work and effort that was put into running a reception area, wondering how it was possible to manage so many people and run a business that involved such careful delegation and use of time.Studying the business of Hairdressing and practicing the skills of the trade from all levels of the service delivery strengthened these early interests. I am extremely passionate about what I do as a craft and I am particularly interested in the human behaviour side of business, and have been keen to explore motivation. What makes people tick? What drives them forward?The world in which we live is increasingly dominated by businesses, so what could be more captivating than working in an area of an organization with the greatest and most diverse collection of people visiting the business?  The dynamics in salons and front office areas of any business provides powerful and fascinating insights into the values and thinking of contemporary societies.Baking is another major passion of mine.  I took up the challenge to learn a new hobby whilst I was pregnant with my second baby and had difficulty standing long-term with hair-dressing duties.  The hobby of baking extended to candy-making and a couple of professional courses later, I found myself with a tidy side-line business. This greatly improved my inter-personal, negotiation skills, financial business management and time management skills.  These skills would be highly transferable to any other business or working environment.I am looking forward to continuing this past time alongside a formal business administration qualification, and think my natural business inquisition and drive for success, working with DoTerra online helping people create not only healthier lifestyles, but also the ability to create a completely different future where any task they set for themselves would make them ideally suited to work in any associated circumstance.
