In addition to below responsabilties I am also managing Optical Transmission Components Department team in Italy Office

In this position I continue to work as Sumitomo Electric key account for for Tier 1 customers (as in previous position) but now also managing a team of sales engineer and sales coordinator people (who manage order, shipment, RMA, stock management).For customers I am dealing directly, I am the interface with Sumitomo headquarter in Japan on the technical side (technical presentation: roadmap, marketing, new design – specification discussion for NPI products, lab support) and commercial side (price negotiation, product promotions).In addition towards internal organization I’m responsible for my customer budget preparation and forecast communication, Customers are worldwide diffused, so I work in a worldwide organization, interfacing also with other country Sales people (not only with R&D, MFG NPI and Production Teams in Japan).

In this position I follow for the complete developing process for card to be used for lift applications: - specification definition- electronic schematic- FW design- HW debug - Qualification (including EMC certification process) and release to production.Part of the activity is discussion with customer, both from marketing aspect (requirements) and for tecnhical assistance once the product has been developed.

Project Manager on Optical DWDM Ttransponders platform. In this activity my main tasks are:- Lead a project team of about 10 people (composed by HW designers, FW designers, test and mechanical designer) in terms of management and technical aspect- Project management of the whole project: definition - specification, planning, tracking, up to production phase- Managing project cost- Interfaces with marketing- Interface with customer- Interface with supplier, both for technical and economical aspect

Team leader of a test group of 4 people in HW DVT (Design verification Test) team, defining task and roles, being also:- Responsible of HW and optica test of an optical system working up to 2,5 GB/s (Sonet, Ethernet and FC traffic).Activity consisted of definition, planning and scheduling of test, according to international standard or internal specification, bug management and test report preparation.I was the interface of test team with Project Leader and sometimes with customer.- Responsible of test of 10Gb/s transponder module.Activity consisted of definition, planning and scheduling of test, according to international standard or internal specification, bug management and test report preparation.I was the interface of test team with Project Leader and sometimes with customer.

Activities (starting from the last):- DSLAM ADSL2+ project in which I worked in development / validation of ADSL physical interface and card FPGA / Network processor debug for what concern traffic functionality.- Responsible of qualification and management of 2.5 optical transceiver in all the projects in Monza and interface with Cisco USA- Responsible of introduction of XFP module (client side: OC192, 10GE, 10FC) and SFP (client side: OC3, OC12, OC48, GE, 1xFC, 2xFC, Escon) developed by external suppliers, for all Cisco transponders developed in Italy, for what concern module choice, test scheduling, specification definition (both standard compliance or customization), test, choice of the best to be used for every project and their FW / SW integration. In this activity I was always in contact with suppliers, both with marketing and technical side. I was also Italian interface of Cisco world Optical Technical Council for client optical modules.-Specification, definition, evaluation, test and introduction of SFP (small form-factor pluggable) module, developed by external suppliers, for a bidirectional transponder multirate from 155 Mb/s to 2.5 Gb/s (OC3, OC12, OC48, GE, FC, ESCON). For this activity I was also responsible of control for DWDM optical interface of the card working with FW people which developed the code. For this project I worked 1 month in CISCO Petaluma (CA, USA). -Project leader of a 10Gb/s Transponder unit, for DWDM application with SDH traffic with FEC.-Specification definition, test and introduction of 300 MSA module client interface, developed by external suppliers, in transponder card under development at that time.- Specification definition, test and evaluation of optical interface for first transponder 10 Gb/s FEC. - Specification definition and evaluation of fully tunable laser C band.
