About Simone Brown
I have been the Director of Student Learning Opportunities at Illawarra Christian School for the past seven years. I am passionate about authentic, engaging quality teaching that challenges students to grow in their learning from whatever their starting point. My studies in educational psychology have deepened my understanding of pedagogy and enabled me to identify areas of school improvement and hence lead staff in how to implement best practice. As an educator of over 25 years and across K-12, I have a deep understanding of all educational settings within a school environment.My leadership journey has taught me that creating a supportive, collegial work environment where people feel heard, have agency and employ their unique gifts and talents is crucial to the efficacy of a team. Journeying together is a joy and valuing people is a privilege.
