Within the scope of the procurement centralization initiative, LGS has activated an organizational unit with the aim to manage procurement support services.The purpose of these services is to improve the effectiveness of LGS procurement processes through new and innovative technologies.The experience in LGS has started from the definition of a roadmap for the evolution of these services in order to reach a complete control of all the procurement processes. This roadmap began with the definition of an integration model between LGS and Leonardo Divisions in order to enable centralized procurement processes (from purchase requisition creation to the purchase order issue), until the definition of supplier collaboration processes.As co-responsible of LGS procurement support services, the main innovations managed are:- New on line negotiation serviceThe new platform and service offered to all Leonardo Divisions for managing on-line negotiation processes (Rfx and Auctions).- New LGS Procurement portalA new portal that enables LGS procurement Business Unit to execute centralized procurement activities as defined in the indirect procurement centralization model.- New Leonardo e-catalog serviceA new service for the e-catalog procurement offered to all Leonardo Divisions. This service allows the self-procurement of standard goods frequently purchased and with low value, in order to make more effective the procurement process.- Digital signature of purchase orders and contractsWith this initiative a new process of purchase order signature has been drawn. This model has been applied first in LGS, as pilot project, and the following deployment in the other Leonardo Divisions.- Centralized contract managementA new model of creation and distribution of LGS contracts to all the Leonardo Divisions in order to improve the use of LGS agreements with suppliers and optimize saving results.
