I love talking about design, purpose, art and anything with a sense of humor. This is a quick run down of what I've poured into the last few years.1. I learnt the power of an idea and making it become real in church. I took messages, thoughts, ideas and strategies and made them sticky. I saw life change and I developed a diverse skill set. I spent 9 years there watching a group of 100 people grow to over 2500ish - spanning across three sites and multiple services. I lead myself, then one other, then ten others and then more. It was great!2. Then I had kids. Two of them, and I learnt that all those skills were about to be tested. Spending four years based at home, supporting my husband growing his barbershop and joining his staff. I also found some needs in the community of moms around me - breastfeeding assistance and community amongst mothers was lacking. I spent saw needs around me and came up with strategies to meet them.I also did some freelance brainstorming with corporates needing a creative injection. 3. Nev the Barber. This shop was growing and so was the brand. I took on the Shops management, reception (remotely via a website and client services) and brand management. We opened stores, closed stores, built a following and cut a lot of hair. I also learned to work in a family business and that I highly recommend! 4. Milk Mothers. I started to study a Certification to become a Breastfeeding Specialist. I began to do home visits upon qualifying and work under an IBCLC (International Breastfeeding Certified Lactation Consultant) and help as many new mothers as I could. I also wrote a Baby Stimulation Programme and taught classes of moms in the midweek and on a Saturday morning. I still consult after hours because I love helping moms and newborns.5. Once my kids were both in school 5 days a week I went looking for something more full time again. Lemonade Design Company were looking for an Account Manager to help work on their projects and manage the studio. There was a mix of small business and big international accounts that needed creativity, structure and strategy. I love working with the Lemons! They have a passion for art and purpose, people and design that makes the world a better place. Okay, that's where I am at. I would say that the world is always in need of something and I am always looking to grow and learn. I am a two on the enneagram. Explains a lot right?
