The Mother Infant Neurodevelopment Study Leiden (Dutch: Een Goed Begin) at the department of Clinical Child and Adolescent Studies aims to gain insight into risk factors for early neurobiological, neurocognitive and social development on the one hand, and working mechanisms of the preventive intervention programme ‘MINDS Leiden’ on the other. This program is based on the US Minding the Baby Programme.

As part of the interdisciplinary minor 'Child abuse and neglect, a life perspective', I participated in a research project examining which experiences are associated with posttraumatic stress disorder. Both traumatic experiences as reported by the Diagnostic and Stastical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) and stressful experiences which fail to meet de DSM-IV criteria were examined.
