As a Senior Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth, I have designed and taught courses on interactive media, data interaction, and art science communication, drawing on my background in visual communication and digital media design. I have 20 years of experience in higher education, and I hold a PhD in Art and Design with a focus on haptic interfaces. I am also a certified Aurora 2022 leader, a programme that aims to advance women in academic leadership roles.My research and practice are driven by a holistic and sensorial perspective on interaction and experience design, incorporating human and environmental factors. I have been involved in several international and multidisciplinary projects, such as the MEDIATE project, which created an augmented environment for sensory communication for children with autism, and the Global Goals Jam, which engaged students and academics from the UK, Australia, and Sri Lanka in addressing sustainable development challenges. I have also published my work in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and I have been a reviewer for the Arts and Humanities Research Council UK. I am passionate about fostering transdisciplinary understanding and discourse around social and ecological issues through creative methods and pedagogy.
