I am an inquisitive and highly-motivated interdisciplinary digital media artist and educator. My goal is to be a key creative player in the field of immersive media technology, all the while continuing to inspire students as an educator. My educational background integrates cultural studies, research-creation and media production. I have an MA in Media Studies from Concordia University supported by scholarships from the FQRSC and SSHRC.In my non-fiction, moving image practice, I work with cultural artifacts and archives as starting points: personal correspondences, anecdotal stories, silent films, traditional recipes, and oral histories. I weave them into surrealist, imaginative tableaus, troubling their status as ethnographic curiosities or documentary evidence. My work asks whether there is a genuine way to capture past experiences, and how they can be made accessible through metaphor and fantasy. I am at the tail-end of a 1-year technical specialization in Virtual and Augmented Reality at Champlain College, where I acquired generalized skills in 3D, immersive world-building, and game-engine based experiences. Previously, I worked as a Part-Time Faculty at the Communications Studies Department at Concordia University and as a live audio technician.
