I completed my Degree in Communication Studies at NWU Potchefstroom. During my studies, I spend a lot of time doing internships to make sure I am equipped with the right practical skills when it comes to executing what it is that I learn in theory at the University. In my 4th year I was selected to be on the Student Council executive committee of the NWU Potchefstroom for Liaison, where we had to make sure that all communication between the students and the Directors of the University were clear. We were also responsible for arranging multiple events held on Campus. During this time, I was also doing an extra Diploma in Fundamental Management where I was able to better my Financial Skills, Management of People, Operations and Effective Managerial Habits. Within my Degree I had to be able to do an analysis of a company’s communication as well as the overall business and be able to identify the areas where they lack and where to improve. I also have to provide solutions on how they can improve in the areas where they lack and implement this within the workplace. My Degree gave me the tools to be able to take a company and help them improve their turnover to be more profitable. Public Relations is a big part of what I studied. Making sure that there is a clear line of communication between a company and its public is very important and something I am very experienced in. Writing Press Releases; giving presentations etc. I am also well skilled in Marketing Communication. As an add on to my Degree I did Events Management, to make sure I am well equipped with how to handle all Operational, Logistical and Risk Management when planning an event. I also took on research methods in my 4th year, as being able to do accurate research on what it is that your target audience wants is very beneficial to a company. I am currently working as an Accounts Manager, where I am responsible for over 400 employees. Making sure that Payroll runs correctly, I have to Liaison between the employees and their Managers and Supervisors. I handle all Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures, Recruitment Procedures, making sure the company is always compliant with the Labor Law and follows all Safety Procedures. I also have to make sure that their medicals are done and keep all filling up to date. I am good at what I do because I have an extreme passion for my work and I always go the extra mile.
