Network Controller
CurrentOperate network control equipment to issue authorities for movements and accurately prepare and issue train authorities for train and track force requirements, in accordance with ARTC network principles;Remain appraised of the location and progress of trains and track forces, accurately recording the particulars on the train graph and in NRAMS, as required;Respond to emergencies and other irregularities in accordance with the stipulated rules, regulations and instructions, providing timely and accurate reports in the prescribed train control reports;Comply with all accepted safe working requirements, Codes of Practice, procedures and processes;Plan in advance anticipated running of all trains and track force working to ensure conflict is avoided;Issue instructions to drivers and staff at line locations, if required, ensuring all events are correctly performed and reported in a timely way in NRAMS and on the train graph;Ensure compliance with train and other notices concerning alterations and additions to signalling and safeworking equipment and rollingstock;Assist track and other staff in reaching work destinations promptly for the purpose of track work and assist with testing of network control equipment;Examine train graphs to observe how various planned workings developed for train management guidance can be made on future shifts to greater advantage;Provide a comprehensive briefing to relieving Network Controllers at the end of the shift to provide a full understanding of train position and any verbal instruction to trains;
