Activities is as important as the air that I breathe. I need to be needed, included and to make a difference in the community that I am a member of. Believe it or not we all share the same needs in life but what a joy to have the opportunity to do it for a living. My favorite three things are: to create and participate in laughter as often as possible, to educate and inspire my employees, residents and volunteers but most of all I thrive when I am in the mist of decorating. I am used to doing parties quarterly for 150+ guest. I love animals, especially the use of dogs for pet therapy.I have completed both state approved courses such as the basic and advance activity courses. I have a lot of Dementia and Alzheimer's training and experience. This is a added bonus to any facility because every place encounters residents that suffer from some form of Dementia. I also received the “Newsletter of the Year for the state of Texas” award from THCA for the year of 2012. I have great computer and communication skills. My programming for demented patients has been mentioned in the Houston Chronicle. I am efficient in MDS, PCC, MS Publisher, MS Word, MS Outlook, Care Planning as well as recording progress noted quarterly. I encourage my staff to offer multiple activities at a time to give the residents a choice. I love to create new experiences for the employees and inspire them to spread happiness through positivity and team work. I invest in training my assistants so that they can deliver quality service then move on to run their own departments. My calendar consist of a healthy rotation of mental and physical fail proof activities. My in-room program is focused on sensory stimulation and heavily documented as well as the daily participation logs. I am organized, a team player and want the residents to have the best day possible every day.
