I decided to take the risk of a career change into tech after 8.5 years of experience in the customer service industry. I pursued a nontraditional route to transition over 8 months, completing a Full-Stack Developer program and a Customer Experience Fellowship. NPower's Path2Tech technical training BootCamp utilized the MERN stack to teach how to build, test, and develop web applications. Brooklyn Workforce Innovations' KindWork Fellowship emphasized and sharpened the transferable skills from my previous work experience.During my Full-Stack cohort, I developed projects in JavaScript and React. I created a weather application with API dependencies for location, dates, and times. For the capstone, I built an environmental education website (reviewable through GitHub). Applied Agile practices within group projects to maximize efficiency through product designing, testing, and debugging processes.Before 2020, I studied Microbiology & Molecular Genetics at the University of Vermont. My academic career prioritized special interests in biological research, conservation, and ethics. I aspire to apply these interests to the expansion of technology through Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Language Processing.
