I am a Lecturer in Law/ Academic at the University of the Sunshine Coast. I have recently submitted a PhD at USC about the role the law plays in the treatment of children with disability in sport. I am interested in discrimination in sport specifically relating to the treatment of children with disabilities, gender diverse people and women in sport. I completed my Masters specialising in Sports Law through Melbourne Uni in March 2016.In late 2021 I submitted my PhD in Law, which argues for improved treatment of children with disabilities in sport, on the basis that current sporting structures and rules are discriminatory. I Chair the Little Athletics Inclusion Committee. I have a long history of involvement in governance, including positions on Boards. I am also honoured to be on the Board, and Company Secretary for Sunshine Coast 2032. From 2017-2021 I was a Director of Little Athletics Australia, and in that role, I was• Chair of the Inclusion Committee;• Chair of the Competitions and Product Review Committee; • the National Merger Governance Committee overseeing and negotiating the merger between LAA and Athletics Australia—the NSO;• the World Cross Country Legacy Committee; and • the Athletics Australia Transgender Advisory Committee;.I also chaired the Governance Working Group to negotiate the governance restructure to be compliant with the national sports governance principles and best practice. I was also the Company Secretary for Little Athletics Australia.I have served as the Company Secretary for Sunshine Coast Lightning. I have served on the Board and including as The Chair of Boldbridge Ltd, which operates a community club on the Sunshine Coast and is embarking upon building another.I am a passionate advocate for the rights and treatment of people with disability in all sectors particularly sport and education. I am also passionate, committed and highly skilled in matters of governance and strategy, include stakeholder relations and engagement.
