Responsible for technical support to partners and clients in Northern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.The role entails assisting the Country Manager, Regional Sales Manager and partners in delivering lighting design, technical specifications, technical reports and in defining commercial strategies for tenders and projects.Regular liaison with the Application Engineering and Marketing departments at the HQ is undertaken to provide feedback from the analysis of project outcomes and of trends in relevant markets. Responsible for carrying out lighting studies on several road lighting schemes, generally applying to redesign of existing installations, at a concept stage. These tasks are required to address natural and context constraints, such as the need to reuse existing columns plinths or dealing with funnelling effects on the lighting structures.Carried out in team details design and site supervision for a £2.1 million award winning lighting renewals scheme entailing the use of energy efficient lighting and sustainable construction techniques.Produced detailed design for £230,000 energy saving schemes, aiming at the renewals of lighting along trunk roads within Area 4.Designer’s duties in this role have included liaison with other specialists from inside and outside the company as well as with statutory undertakers, local authorities, subcontractors and suppliers, in order to co-ordinate all the activities and the decisions forming the scheme deliverables. Great attention has been paid to sustainability and energy savings in the design process.Following participation to the collaborative planning process (LEAN), co-ordinated the pre-construction stage for lighting renewals and drainage schemes combined into a £1.4 million scheme. The task entailed weekly liaisons with the relevant specialists and agents to discuss construction requirements and traffic management arrangements.Supported other members of the Lighting team in complying with integrated management system (IMS) procedures and processes and carried out scheme assessments previous to internal and Highways Agency (HA) audits.Part of the Quality Management pool of volunteers provided support to members of staff in complying with Contract standards.Member of the team designing the new Scheme Control Document, electronically generated and promoting a meeting-based design process.Worked in team on a multi-disciplinary urban regeneration scheme for Transport for London.

Provided concept lighting for the refurbished office to be occupied by unruly Media Ltd. The task required constant liaison with the Client as well as with the professional in charge of the Interior Design.

Responsible for the day-to-day management of lighting design projects, from indoor architectural to urban exterior schemes. Tasks required the creation of concept presentations for clients, drawing up layouts and installation details using CAD software, providing lighting calculations as well as budget and consumption analysis. Responsible for the liaison with suppliers and manufactures and meeting periodically with clients to discuss their schemes.Projects involved in included residential lighting for a private developer, lighting for the Runnymede Hotel, near Heathrow Airport, and a refurbished office owned by Transport for London. As the scheme lighting designer for the redevelopment of Bishop Auckland centre in Durham, was required not only to improve the performance of the street lighting but also to enhance the appearance of the listed buildings around the town.

Responsible for providing concept design, lighting calculations and layouts for car parks, landscape areas and local streets on many schemes in London and Berlin offices.Coordination with manufacturers and delivery of special design fixtures.Responsible for the co-ordination of the lighting aspects for two US$3 million projects for office and retail developments in central Moscow. The task required the management from concept to commissioning and dealing with appointed architects, contractors and clients. This involved producing presentation and visual concepts, layouts and architectural details, lighting and consumption calculations.The daVinci 57,000m2 retail park project in Rome, required work on the improvement of street lighting and also the architectural features in order to meet local Lighting Pollution standards. Responsible for the design of anti-glare devices, arranging their manufacture and liaising with the local Astronomical Observatory representative as to their location around the development area, giving assurances that their viewing activity would not be obstructed.Responsible for providing concept design, lighting calculations and for car parks layouts, landscape areas and local streets on a variety of schemes in the office. Examples include 600,000m2 mixed use Park Gorkogo in Kiev, a 12,000m2 office building in Bucharest, two retail parks in western Siberia, one 21,000m2 outlet village in Switzerland, Metro Centre expansion in Newcastle and Barnsley town centre redevelopment.

Rejoined Ecologos to work with both public and private clients on producing energy policies and designing efficient housing, using appropriate technologies and materials. Also responsible for applying best practice from Regione Piemonte Council guidelines to several building schemes.During 2006/07, worked on a €500,000 waste reduction project (Progetto GDO) for Regione Piemonte Council (the client). This followed on from earlier work in 2005 and required assessing and auditing companies which had introduced waste reduction measures under Council grants. The measures were assessed in accordance with the documents produced whilst working for Ecologos in 2005.

Responsible for carrying out surveys in shanty towns to acquire information on the quality of private buildings and produced architectural designs for healthier and safer housing. Ran weekly audits with local residents to provide the necessary information for future re-development projects.Managed the day-to-day planning for a Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling System; this required the construction of a plant as well as the implementation of a waste management system. Also responsible for the architectural design of two industrial sheds and a one storey office building.As visiting lecturer gave talks on Urban Policies in Santo André and on Recycling of Construction and Demolition Waste at Politecnico di Torino.

Produced documents providing the basis for the development of waste reduction policies by Regione Piemonte Council. This included a report on the retail sector in Piemonte, analysing the number of companies operating in the industry and their geographical distribution; a further document listed and described the relevant Best Practices from Italy and other EU countries.Assisted the team director in producing a feasibility study on the re-use and the recycling of polymers, on behalf of Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials at Politecnico di Torino.

Responsible for the production of Energy Best Practices Handbook, meant to provide support for Quincinetto local authority and the companies operating in the construction industry in the improvement of the local building stockAssisted the senior Civil Engineer in designing the Museum of Sustainable Living in Quincinetto and responsible for the analysis of the energy performance calculation of the proposed building.Responsible for carrying out energy audits on a few public buildings, in order to assess their performance and propose technical solutions to reduce their energy consumption.

Involved in carrying out surveys of Vila Canoas shanty town in Rio de Janeiro, to assess the quality of life in the town and in the local buildings. This task also required to run audits with a selected number of inhabitants and representative of the local authority in order to combine the information collected during the site visits with their feedback. The aim of the job was providing assessment of works that had carried out since 1997 as part of an EU scheme.
