What is a Thrive Practitioner and what do they do?In my role as a Thrive Practitioner, I support children who have SEMH needs. I am passionate about ensuring that all children are given the best opportunities in school to succeed and thrive. I feel very privileged when I am allowed to be part of the journey through; forming trusting relationships, creating a space of calm and a sense of feeling safe, allowing children to make their own choices and explore their world in their way that is unique to them.Using my skills acquired through 25 years in education as a teacher, leader and SENCo, I am confident in providing high quality learning experiences for the children that I meet and work with.Using the Thrive approach to identify a child’s emotional developmental needs, I create individualised plans to target the support.I deliver these plans through 1:1 and small groups sessions in school. Working in partnership with the school team, parents/carers and wider community is all part of my role too, ensuring that the child is supported both at school and home.If you have children in your school that have SEMH needs and you want professional, high quality teaching and learning support from a knowledgeable and compassionate practitioner, I'm here to help.
