Responsibility for the development of a Books program centering on products that provide essential information for readers, and for defining the commercial and editorial direction of the program. Publishing • In collaboration with the Chief Publishing Officer, Head of Global Sales and Director of Marketing, develop the strategic commercial, publishing, and editorial direction of the Books portfolio• Track key performance indicators, set targets, and measure success by devising, implementing and executing strategies to meet those targets• Develop appropriate budget recommendations and projections for the portfolioSales and Marketing• In partnership with Sales and Marketing, develop a strategy that reflects the scientific, marketing, and sales goals for the Books portfolio through all available distribution channels• In partnership with Sales, drive institutional subscriptions and commercial opportunities across the portfolio Staff Management• Oversee the Commissioning Editors in the development and execution of a strong commissioning strategy and flow of eBooks to ensure the program is the leader within the physical sciences• Attract, recruit, train, manage, and develop an editorial team. Champion team to the broader organization and ensure colleagues are clear on strategic priorities and how they translate into their day-to-day work• Provide mentorship and coaching to the Commissioning Editors to facilitate their professional development
