To help companies across Benelux understand and manage their environmental risks Simone underwrites environmental insurance in the Benelux. Around 17,000 cases of environmental legislation exist across the world. Thirty years ago there were a couple of hundred cases, with the majority in the U.S.Today, companies need to be aware of how their operations comply with obligations imposed on them under applicable legislation and what insurance cover is available. In the EU, the Environmental Liability Directive (ELD) is in place and all EU countries have transported the ELD into their law. Simone provides clients across the Benelux region with real insights and solutions to help them manage their environmental risks. She combines her academic knowledge with her diverse experience of working across sectors. Before working at AXA XL she was Project Manager responsible for the preparation, guidance and implementation of projects. These included the project management of, and strategic consulting on, environmental permits of mid-sized companies as well as multinationals. Simone is Environmental Underwriter Benelux bij AXA XL. Door haar milieukundige achtergrond is zij goed in staat de informatie benodigd voor Environmental Insurance (EIL) te analyseren en op basis daarvan een juiste inschatting te maken van de eventuele risico's voor de verzekerden. Voorafgaand aan haar functie bij AXA XL was Simone werkzaam in de advieswereld en bij de overheid. Ze heeft ruime ervaring op het gebied van milieu (vergunningaanvragen (zowel Wabo-, Waterwet-, als sloop-, bouw- en gebruiksvergunningen), geluid, lucht, bodem, water etc.) voor industriële bedrijven en semi-overheden. Hierbij moet gedacht worden aan afvalverwerking, zorginstellingen, betoncentrales, chemische bedrijven, voedingsindustrie, op- en overslagbedrijven van onder andere gevaarlijke stoffen, metaalbewerking, verffabrieken en leisure.
