• Preparation of monthly management accounts – P&L vs Budget, Balance Sheet, P&L vs previous year, Accruals & Prepayments, Fixed Assets, Debtors, Cash Flow, Creditors & Tax• Cash flow forecasting – 6 month forecasts based on projected sales and budget• Sales ledger – raising sales invoices for 30 – 50 clients a month, liaising with account managers to ensure all jobs billed for month and discuss discrepancies between billings sheets and job costing system (Synergist), allocating receipts to customer accounts, dealing with invoices queries• Purchase ledger – raising purchase orders, coding and processing supplier invoices for 30 – 60 suppliers a month, liaising with account managers with discrepancies between invoices and PO’s, statement reconciliation, weekly payment runs via BACS and cheque• Credit control – issuing monthly statements and making excel statements for foreign currency clients and those with other payment terms, chasing debts, liaising with clients to arrange payment plans, credit checks for potential new clients• Banking – checking for receipts and payments and allocating, setting up direct debits, foreign currency transfers, weekly & monthly reconciliations, ensuring sufficient funds in each account and doing transfers between accounts• Job profitability reporting• Quarterly VAT & EC sales returns – manual reconciliation of sales due to overseas sales• Journals – foreign exchange journals, month end journals for foreign currency bank accounts• Petty cash control, credit card payments & staff expenses• Fixed Assets – recording all new purchases and accounting for depreciation• Year End close down – running nominal ledger reports and checking for any miss-postings, liaising with accountants for preparation of Year End accounts• Meeting with suppliers – account reviews, maintenance of office equipment, discussing new products & services• Systems used – Sage Line 50, Synergist, MS Excel & Word
