My biggest qualities are my optimism and energy and I bring these attitudes with me everywhere. I love to empower people and make them use their strengths to the fullest.Since my childhood, I have been interested in different cultures. I find it interesting to see how every culture has a different perspective on things. In my opinion, it's a privilege to learn how things work in other countries and how we can learn from one to another. Therefore, I would love to work in an organization that focusses on different nationalities and cultural diversity.After my Social Work studies, I worked as a youth coordinator at Wijkcentrum het Floreshuis in Groningen. Together with juniors, we created a Youth Center where they could come for activities, advice, information and for improving their talents. After this project ended, I worked as a housing counselor for an addiction treatment organization (VNN). VNN had protected housing for clients with a double diagnosis; addiction and psychiatric problems. I had my own caseload with clients with a variety of problems. At VNN I learned how to work solution-oriented.I moved to Maastricht to study Cultural Anthropology at KU Leuven (for almost 1,5 years) and started working with different kinds of nationalities at The Student Hotel. At the same time I started working at Mondriaan, as a youth worker in crisis situations. This job was really challenging next to my studies so I changed to my current job as a community worker. I love this job as it gives me diversity, (cultural) anthropology, flexibility and freedom to focus on the things I find interesting. To completely focus myself on my neighborhoods and all the challenges they face, I quit my studies for Cultural Anthropology. I loved it, but see so many possibilities for cultural anthropology in my work I prefer to focus on that. I would also describe myself as eager to learn, hardworking, flexible and enterprising. I am social, independent, very enthusiastic and pro-active. Suggesting new ideas is not a problem for me. I'm interested in the working method Getting Things Done (GTD, by David Allen) and try to apply this as much as I can throughout my work.Language skillsI hold a C1 English proficiency IELTS certificate and I am currently improving my Portuguese skills. I studied German and France in high school.
