I am a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Neuro-Linguistics practitioner. I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and a BA (Hons) Degree in Person Centred Psychotherapy through The Metanoia Institute in London. I have an interest in my community and the charity sector working for Youthline in various capacities since 2010. As their Head of Counselling Services, I help develop and implement their strategic business plan for counselling services in the outreach provision, on site to young people, their parents and to professionals who work with young people ensuring the highest standards of customer service. Leading on the development and delivery of new services and activities related to counselling and psychotherapy I ensure that counselling and psychotherapy continues to be an integral aspect of core services. I hold accountability for the clinical governance of the charity ensuring clinical quality and efficacy of the counselling services to include sufficient professional supervision is in place by co-ordinating the recruitment, training and support for direct reports: outreach co-ordinator, designated young people counsellors, the clinical supervision team, placement students and counsellors within the organisation. I have achieved and maintain its BACP Service Accreditation status and with that helped to shape their strategies, procedures and policies to align with the BACP’s Ethical Framework for the counselling professions. I am responsible for and manage the recruitment, training and support of the counselling team. I provide day to day support and guidance to placement students, volunteers and staff dealing with risk and safeguarding issues. I have designed, developed and delivered safeguarding training and induction programmes and various CPD workshops investing in the development of all our volunteers.Alongside my work at Youthline, I run a busy private clinic in Berkshire where I work with clients from many different social and cultural backgrounds.
