Technology Consultant specialized in Photonics, Quantum Systems and Innovation Management. At VDI Technologiezentrum I am one of the key contacts for Technology and Research Funding Consultancy within our Photonics unit, specialized in Sensors and Analytics, Microphotonics, Integrated Photonics, Bio Photonics, and Open Innovation. In this role, I am part of the management team for the funding program “Photonik Forschung Deutschland“ by the German ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). This includes the monitoring and support of research projects - from project ideas to proof of use; the strategic and content-based participation in the implementation of the research program and derived funding guidelines; the organization of workshops, statutory seminars and specialist talks; the preparation of funding decisions in consultation with the client; driving innovation with the „Make Light“ – Initiative of the BMBF and coordination and organization of the “Photonic Academy” and other student programs. With my scientific background in experimental physics (Diploma and Ph.D.), research activity at a Max-Planck- and Fraunhofer-Institute, 20 scientific publications, a large number of conference contributions and speeches, I am glad to be partaking at the design of the future in Photonics in Germany and Europe.I am thrilled by driving innovative initiatives such as maker initiatives and open innovation projects. With a background of almost ten years of teaching experience at various universities, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with the next generation of researchers, for example by actively supporting the initiative “Photonik Campus Deutschland”, “Photonic Academy”, “Make Light”, "Quantum Futur" among other student programs.Privates Profil.
