About Simone Koch
--Currently at the end of a career break--I always thought I would have a creative career, improving peoples' lives by creating products and systems. It seemed appropriate, given my BSc. in Industrial Design. But during a temp job I found my love for organizational innovations. I switched studies and graduated cum laude from the MSc. Innovation Management at TU/e. Now I apply my design skills to build better businesses and organizations. I have learned to build great teams, I focus on big-impact initiatives, and I always drive myself to improve. My experiences in and outside work have taught me the following about myself:I can align, lead and facilitate cross-functional teams from 3 to 15 people.- I'm happy to lead, and am strongest without line-authority.- I bring people together by seeking shared goals.- I always try to bring out the best in others, and love when I can help people grow.I can be the go-to person for business-crucial initiatives that you're not yet sure how to go about. - I comfortably lead initiatives with high degrees of ambiguity. I'll help you define the opportunity and implement a solution. Maybe even find a new business model, while we're at it.- I excel in strategic projects, and love the complexity this brings.- My gut instinct is good, but I use my background in data & analysis for decision making.I challenge myself in various ways to get most out of life and work.- I don't settle for the status quo. Instead you'll often hear me say "I wonder about..." to inspire new ideas.- I love to learn new things and am curious about other perspectives.- To make the most of my career break, I recently walked for 43 days across northern Spain (>900km), I volunteer at the local animal shelter and continuously build and improve my edible garden - because my love for helping things grow also extends to animals and plants.
