• Spearheaded and provided advice for the construction of novel disease classifications, using proven machine learning algorithms, Python, and R, that revealed underappreciated aspects of autoimmune diseases including juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Takayasu arteritis, and myositis.• Published in a rheumatology journal and a high-impact medical journal.• Directly mentored two medical school students and one undergraduate student, as well as several summer research students indirectly through related projects.• Supervised by Dr. Rae Yeung at SickKids and Dr. Quaid Morris at the Donnelly Centre, University of Toronto.

• Designed and implemented a laboratory information management system for Caenorhabditis elegans knockout strains using PHP and Postgres, tailored to the needs of Dr. Moerman’s laboratory, to replace an out-dated system.

• Taught tutorial classes for about 20 students each for an introductory computer science course.• Encouraged directly several students curious about computer science to join the Computer Science program at UBC, all of whom now hold positions at technology firms.
