Wherever I May, Or May Not Be In Life

I started writing Poetry back in 83', hoping that one day I would be able to collectively gather my work, turning them into the book I was to name "From my Heart to Yours". There was one big stepping stone for me in that no one had ever read any of my poetry. Taking baby steps, I started to share, and in doing so my poetry evolved into the personal journals of my life experiences, all the ups, the downs, all the good, the bad, and the many challenges and traumatic experiences I had faced, and somehow overcame.One doctor had put it to me this way, "You went through Hell and Back, and came out whole". I realized at that moment, that I was being selfish, and although some of my poetry had been published, there was still something missing.In reading my journals, I had realized that I wasn't the only one, there were so many others that were facing similar challenges, so I opened up my world to others.I still aspire to be published, yet now utilizing my life experiences, reaching out to more than just my friends, to those I hope to reach, so that they too can look beyond the mirror, and realize they have the strength within themselvesOne may ask what is in it for me, and all that I can say is that each one of us beholds a gift for this world, a meaning, a purpose, and a shining light to guide othersWith all that said, and given the somewhat different manner in which I write, which may sound odd to some, but I am incapable of just sitting down with a subject in mind and a pen in hand. As a Court appointed special advocate, the presiding Judge assigned me to oversee the care of children who had been removed from their homes by the Department of Human Services. In this position I served the same role as the DHS case worker, except I worked for the Judge. Unlike DHS case workers, who have an overabundance of cases to handle; my focus was not split, as I was only assigned to one family at any given time. Given this, I was better suited to convey to the courts and the Judge what was truly in the best interest of the children. In addition to this, I attended all court hearings that were attached to the children and to the case, be they familial, or criminal.

I was trained at LLNL in Hazmat Emergency Response, and licensed by OSHA

In this position, I handled the intake of customers, whether the contract was for personal yachts, Coast Guard, or Navy ships. I participated in the bidding process of the jobs, and handled all Contract Negotiations between Stone Boat Yard and the customer. In addition, I was the Purchasing Project Manager for all contracts.
