I am not the "classical" kind of art historian, where theories, writing about and curating art is often the primary focus. I am better at - and more driven by - the more "hands on" part of the world of art. 🔹Experiences...- Coordination and planning of art exhibitions and fairs, especially concerning shipping and transport of all kinds of artworks, both nationally and internationally. - Communication with all parties involved in the creation of an exhibition; artists, museums, galleries, private lenders, auction houses, couriers, shipping- and transport agents, conservators, etc. - Estimations and project budgeting.- Project management and economical insight, as well as cost management and billing.- Customs formalities and other import/export handling (transport documentation and permits, such as ATA-carnet, INF3, CITES, etc.).- Communication across borders, languages and time zones.- Handling and packing of art; including knowledge about art storage, threats concerning artworks' conservation, packing materials and production of specialized and custom transport crates.- Security regarding transport and storage, including supervision at airports, secure overnight stays and of course discretion. - Law concerning loan contracts and ongoing development and updates of terms and conditions.
