For undergraduate, I attended Rockhurst University, Kansas City, Missouri where I completed degrees in Spanish (capstone: Immigration Brain Drain) and International Business. The recipient of the prestigious Pickering fellowship (1 of 20 applicants out of 600 applicants) brought me from the frigid Midwest to the east coast resulting in a master’s degree in International Relations with a minor in International Development from American University, Washington D. C. A former U.S. Diplomat with 12+ years as a federal government employee which began with Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer serving in Mexico, Cuba, Sierra Leone and Ghana in varying capacities and continued with Department of Homeland Security, U.S. where I currently serve.
