Simon's passion is system integration. He has experience in integrating all kinds of legacy hardware and software systems in order to create an unified display. Mirasan is a prime example of an unified interface showing integrated data from various sources.Prior to joining TSI full-time, Simon worked as a senior engineer at the City of Toronto. He managed the operations of the traffic management centre control room with over 20 staff. He understands the challenges faced by traffic management staff, and how software and technologies can streamline processes for handling everything from routine day-to-day tasks to emergency situations.Simon has a unique cross-section of multidisciplinary training. He has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto specializing in communications theory, and a Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).Simon enjoys playing with his two beautiful kids and his violin in the North York Concert Orchestra in his spare time.
