Managed both projects and teams to deliver enhancements to existing IOT products which promote high availability and scalability. Responsibilities were very broad and included the management/lead of development teams, project planning, cloud integration with both Azure and AWS, architecture, design, implementation, as well as POC and selection of new technologies. While here I also expanded my experience in DevOps by helping build product load testing tools which could run in local, AWS or Azure environments. Major contributor to containerization of existing products and deployment in both local and cloud environments. Major Technologies used included Java, Docker, Kubernetes, DCOS, Kafka, Apache Ignite, Ansible and multiple scripting languages.

While working at EBay I managed the full software development life cycle of multiple software products. An Agile development process was used to plan and adjust to changing requirements, using tools like Rally and Jira for feature and user story management. The various products were developed using multiple technologies including JAVA, Mule, Spring Framework, SQL, Drupal/PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Ruby on Rails. Projects included web store integration, mule and spring services, REST API development and integration, documentation portal and a consolidated client facing user interface for working with our external API layers. Responsibilities included managing a multi-location team, requirement analysis, long and short term project scheduling, budgeting, architecture planning, design and implementation of products. To ensure high code quality and low maintenance cost all code was automated tested where possible. When developing products we had to constantly adjust to ever changing requirements and company needs, working around obstacles and juggling requirements to ensure maximum productivity and minimum waste. I was always directly involved in the code review process and helped mentor multiple team members in learning new technologies and methodologies.

I was brought in to Lighthammer Software very early in the products life cycle as an Architect to grow their current Java and C based Manufacturing tool suite into a highly scalable application. After successfully maturing the product by moving to a clustered J2EE implementation running on Weblogic, we were acquired by SAP Labs and I took over the Project Lead and Team Management position while continuing to be the main product Architect. I expanded the team at this point with people from both Germany and India. I was responsible for integrating the teams and moving the product onto SAP based technologies such as the NetWeaver J2EE engine. We did a large overhaul of the product to meet internal product standards and use required internal technologies. The product's integration into SAP was the best in SAP's history because of the flexibility and abstraction of the applications design. We used an Agile like approach to planning to allow for quick product adjustments in a competitive market. During the lifecycle of the product I often interfaced with customers to help drive future product development and also to ensure that current development was fully meeting customer needs. I continued to drive new product features and expanded our internal tools for automated product testing.

Redesign of the hosted substance management application to allow for easier expansion and quicker releases to market. Performed a complete overhaul of the application user interfaces as well, to better suite customer needs. J2EE and UI technologies such as Servlets, JavaScript, HTML, JSP, JMS and EJB technologies were used. Development work was done using Weblogic Application Server and Apache Tomcat Servlet/JSP engine hooked into Oracle database. I was also responsible for managing several backend and frontend contractors to help increase the time to market of deliverables but also ensuring that quality standards were maintained via automated testing and code review process.

Designed and developed multiple products for both internal and external use. Products were developed using multiple technologies such as J2EE, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, Visual C++, ASP, Visual Basic and Microsoft SQL Server. Products included an e-commerce interface for purchasing downloadable content, a content management system and multiple internal tools to support data collection and scrubbing.

At Lockheed I worked on two large scale projects. The first project was the development of Second TDRS Ground Terminal (STGT) for NASA using ADA interfaced with RDB and Ingres databases. Software developed on VAX (VMS/DCL) platform. The second project was a ground based command and control system for controlling on orbit spacecraft using C interfaced with Oracle database. Software developed on RS6000 (AIX) and Sun (Unix/X-Window) platform. This project required both SCI and DOD security clearances.
