As a boy from Eton, well not quite, I grew up in Eton Wick and was born in Slough. With the doubt of my teachers I surpassed their expectations by earning myself a degree in Modelmaking from Bournemouth Arts institute. I then found myself sitting at a bench working for Atom ltd, one of the longest running modelmaking companies. Fast forward nine years I am now Project manager of a very talented and passionate team promoting what Atom has to offer in this ever-growing artistic field. I started my journey into design at Reading College and after completing the two years with a distinction I decided to push my creativity further by accepting a place at university. This experience opened my eyes to the complex world of model making and no it isn't just sitting around building model planes. My skills were tested in many different areas building up my knowledge of problem solving and working within a team. I was introduced to Rhinoceros 3D where my love for CAD began. I have since honed this skill among others helping me further my knowledge. At 30 I find myself still being classed as a young one by the old guard. It is strange to see how far the modelling techniques have changed over time, with newly developed technologies, machines and materials that are available. However, my senior colleagues’ skills and direction have been vital to me. Now working with the new graduates, it presents me with new challenges. I enjoy this part of my role as want to see others succeed as much as I have. I love the world of design and feel lucky that I get to help create such unique concepts that only a few people may see. As well as this of course it is amazing to see projects make it to the public domain.I pride myself with proving an excellent level of service to my clients and will always enjoy the complex challenges within a brief alongside the team.
