About Simon Forrest

Simon is a highly experienced media executive/owner working at the highest level within a number of organisations. Before launching Black Island Media in 2019 he was co-founder and Chief Executive of Accorder Music Publishing, one of Europe's leading independent film and TV music publishers. Accorder was sold to Peermusic, the global music publisher in July 2018.Simon has led an extremely varied and successful media career from early days as a news producer starting at Scottish TV and including News Editor at Channel Four News. He has also been involved in corporate communications for media companies - both practical B2B and B2C marketing as well as investor relations.Creating content has also been a big part of Simon’s past, with original programming including The Top Ten of Everything (ITV Kids), The John Stonehouse Affair (ITV drama) and a wide variety of natural history programmes for Channel 5, BBC, National Geographic and Animal Planet through Aqua Vita Films in Bristol. Simon is a voting member of BAFTA, as well as former board member of the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
